* Please note that the first class will be attended WITHOUT your dog in order for us to ensure that we have set up appropriate safety measures including maintaining social/safe distancing at all times and to discuss some basic handling information in addition to those measures. 

Welcome to Charm School.. for your dog! 

The purpose of this class is to help dogs who are reactive towards unfamiliar people improve their confidence and social skills in a safe and consistent manner at the same time as it teaches you how to handle them appropriately and in ways that minimize potential bite incidents! 

We will intentionally expose our class participants to situations and scenarios that may cause them stress so that we can teach them to trust you to keep them safe and give them crystal clear communication about what we DO want and what we DON'T want. This class will be taught with our ACT (Adaptive Canine Training) approach with a focus on BIG praise for good choices and fair and appropriate correction and guidance for any less-than-great choices they may make. 

Potential topics include body handling (for grooming or other purposes), how to manage vet visits in a way that minimizes stress, how to desensitize your dog to sounds and movements that might trigger aggressive/fearful reactions, and other relevant issues. 

Our guest instructor, Stephanie, will provide a thorough run down on appropriate muzzle training including different types of muzzles, correct fit, and proper introduction of the muzzle so that it isn't something your dog hates! 

Our goal is not to make your dogs perfect but to create scenarios where you both get to build trust and confidence in one another so that you can live happier, healthier lives together! 

Dogs with bite histories ARE welcome to attend however they MUST be up to date on vaccinations and we MUST be given detailed information about any previous bite incidents so that we are able to keep ourselves and other class participants safe for the duration of the classes. 

This class will be limited to 5 dogs with one handler each.
