Mother, May I - Polite Greetings w/Christina

This five week "mini series" focuses on teaching your dog appropriate introductions to other dogs and people (including how to disengage when you're done)! We'll also go over what it really means to make sure that your puppy or dog is "socialized" the right way!   

Our first class will be humans only, so leave your dogs at home for this one. We'll discuss proper leash handling, what an appropriate greeting should look like, and how to create it - PLUS we'll talk about how to walk away without a fuss when it's time to go. You'll get a chance to learn about our ACT philosophy, and we'll show you how to determine what kinds of feedback are most appropriate to establish clear, consistent communication with your dog!  

Each of the next four classes will consist of an hour of hands on learning with your dog. We will begin at our Training Centre and hopefully also venture out to a couple of different nearby settings to help the dogs generalize their new behaviours! The goal will be to have your dog learn how to successfully ignore other dogs or people, approach them in a state of reasonable calm when allowed, and come away without issue when it's time to go. Introductions to people will include sitting politely (no jumping) for pets, and will also provide information on how to advocate for your dog if you (or your dog!) would prefer that he or she not be petted at any given time.  

This class is open to both puppies and dogs who are up to date on their vaccinations and who are not experiencing severe reactivity or behavioural issues towards other dogs or people.

Space is limited to 6 dogs maximum, with a $50.00 non-refundable deposit required to reserve your spot! 

Should you wish to cancel your reservation less than 48 hours prior to the start of class, you will be subject to a Late Cancellation Fee equal to 50% of the overall cost of the class. Anyone withrawing from class after class has begun will be subject to the same fee.
